Penang Infrastructure, Transport and Digital Exco, Zairil Khir Johari said the latest development in the LRT project for the state is very welcoming after the Federal Government has agreed to fund for the mega infrastructure project.

 

Earlier reports on the RM10 billion project a massive undertaking for the state, was only that the Federal Government would assist in the funding, however with the latest report the state exco said this would be the largest allocation since the Pakatan Harapan Government taking over the Penang leadership.

 

Penang LRT project is one of the infrastructure and public facilities projects that the people of Penang have been looking forward to for a long time. “Given that the traffic congestion in this state is getting worse and more urgent, the concern of the Federal Government including the Malaysian Ministry of Transport is greatly appreciated” he said.

 

The line which the government will be funding is from the Penang Airport to Penang Sentral.
