Communication Executive

REPORTS TO: Manager- Strategic Comms & Stakeholder Management

 

(A) KEY RESULT AREA (KRA)

  • To develop effective corporate communications strategies
  • To effectively manage internal communication tools
  • To promote a positive public image on the company’s behalf
  • To ensure all communication drafts are prepared in a timely manner

 

(B) MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Develop and Implement Corporate Communications Strategies: Craft and execute comprehensive corporate communication strategies that align with the company’s goals and values.
  • Manage Internal Communications: Oversee internal communication channels, including memos, newsletters, and other internal publications, ensuring consistent and clear messaging.
  • Content Creation: Draft engaging and accurate content for mass media, the company website, and other communication platforms.
  • Event and Initiative Coordination: Organize and plan corporate initiatives, events, and press conferences to enhance company visibility and engagement.
  • Media Relations: Act as the primary liaison with media outlets, handling interview requests, issuing statements, and managing media inquiries.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including media personnel, industry partners, and community leaders.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Team: Work closely with marketing professionals to develop and produce effective advertisements and promotional materials.
  • Crisis Management: Implement and oversee damage control measures in response to negative publicity or crises, ensuring the company’s reputation is protected.
  • Dispute Resolution: Facilitate the resolution of disputes involving the public or external vendors, promoting positive outcomes and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Support Senior Leadership Communication: Assist in the communication of strategic initiatives and messages from senior leadership, ensuring clarity and alignment across the organization.

 

(C) COMPETENCIES (TECHNICAL)

  • Experience as communications specialist
  • Knowledge in web design, photo and video editing will be an added advantage
  • Good copywriting and editing skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and content production
  • Good organisation and planning abilities
  • Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English

 

(D) QUALIFICATIONS (MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS)

  • Degree in public relations, communications or relevant field
  • At least five years working experience in similar field
