02 Mar Dutch ambassador and CM Chow engage in fruitful online meeting

THE Netherlands ambassador to Malaysia Aart Jacobi has offered Dutch expertise to the Penang government when he spoke to Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow during a virtual courtesy call today.
Chow and Jacobi exchanged views on various topics, such as on the Penang South Reclamation (PSR) project, water supply management and the new ferry system using the passenger catamarans.
Chow updated Jacobi on the progress of the PSR project, saying that it is in the final stage of signing the contract with the contractor to develop phase one of Island A.
Jacobi said in 2018, the Dutch risk reduction team visited Penang to organise workshops on disaster management and urban planning.
Virtual courtesy call
Among others who took part in the online meeting were InvestPenang chief executive officer Datuk Loo Lee Lian, Malaysian Dutch Business Council (MDBC) executive director Marco Winter and senior economic officer (Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Malaysia) Gayathri Vythalingam.
Loo said a virtual seminar targeting the European investors is scheduled to take place in April.
