THE public exhibition of the Request for Proposal (RFP) documents for the Penang Transport Master Plan (PTMP) will be extended until the end of this month, said state executive councillor Chow Kon Yeow.

He said the documents were open for public viewing at Dewan Sri Pinang for a month from Jan 16 until Feb 17.

“So far, 70 people have attended the public exhibition.

“As many as 13 questions have been submitted in writing to the state government. From the 13 responses, there are four suggestions from the public to extend the period of the public exhibition.

“Therefore, the state government is pleased to extend the public exhibition of these documents until the end of February that is from Feb 20 until Feb 28,” he announced at a press conference at Komtar here on Wednesday.

Chow added that the extension of the public exhibition would be held at the same location between Mondays and Thursdays (8am-1pm, 2pm-5pm) and Friday (8am 12.15pm, 2.45pm-5pm).

Earlier, at the same press conference, Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng presented microcredit loans of RM5,000 each through the Tabung Usahawan Tani Muda (TUTM) initiative to nine young entrepreneurs.

State Agriculture, Agro-based Industry, Rural Development and Health Committee chairman Dr Afif Bahardin, who was also present, said out of the nine recipients, seven were from the agriculture category, one from the livestock category and one from the fishery category.
